South Western Ambulance Charity welcomes Louise Walsh!
Over the past year we have seen an outpouring of love and appreciation for the NHS during what have been really challenging times for everyone. As a charity the South Western Ambulance Charity has been overwhelmed by the incredible support that we have received from members of the public wanting to show their appreciation for the care that they or their loved ones have received from the Ambulance Service.
As our Charity continues to develop we are delighted to welcome our new Fundraising Manager,
Louise Walsh, to our team. Louise will be developing exciting new fundraising activities as well as driving forward impactful spending initiatives to help us go the extra mile for our exceptional staff, volunteer heroes and the communities served by the South Western Ambulance Service.
With over 20 years in fundraising roles, Louise brings a breadth of knowledge and experience to her new role. Louise is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising (MCIOF) and has worked for public bodies and charities across the community, cultural and healthcare sectors. Based in Cornwall she recently worked at Plymouth’s major new museum ‘The Box’ and prior to that for DDRC Healthcare at the Hyperbaric Medical Centre in Plymouth. Louise has also worked in a regional role for community regeneration charity, Groundwork.
Louise says of her new role “I am immensely excited about this opportunity to work with a charity that is delivering such vital work. I’m sure we have all seen or experienced the phenomenal but challenging work that NHS ambulance staff and volunteers carry out every day in our communities. I look forward to working with supporters to raise as much funding as possible to support the vital work of our Charity.”
Head of Charity, Zoe Larter, says “Louise has already had an opportunity to see the incredible impact that charity funding can have when she joined one of our Community First Responders volunteering on the Crew Welfare Vehicle at the Royal Cornwall Hospital. I look forward to working closely with Louise as she brings a wealth of experience to this varied and incredibly valuable role”.
