Volunteer - South Western Ambulance Service
The South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) covers one of the most rural areas of the UK and is committed to providing the population of the South West with the highest standard of out-of-hospital care.
Many incredible Community First Responders (CFRs) volunteer to help members of their local community in their time of need. Every day they attend emergencies in their local communities. Sometimes the difference is providing reassurance prior to the arrival of an ambulance; sometimes it is saving someone's life.
If you would like to help make your community a safer place to live, visit the SWASFT website for details of current volunteering opportunities. Some non-clinical volunteering roles may also be available in your area.
As an NHS charity, the South Western Ambulance Charity raises funds to purchase additional equipment such as lifting chairs and enhanced observational equipment to support the volunteer CFRs.
We welcome any donations to support the work of our Community First Responders and other volunteers.
